Why We Started This Blog — And What ‘Ghar Jaisa Khana’ Means to Us

Every time someone tells us,
“This reminds me of home,”
we pause for a second — because that’s the highest compliment we could ever receive.

At Home Diner, food isn’t just about flavor or convenience.
It’s about how it makes you feel — light, nourished, remembered.

When we say Halka Phulka Ghar Jaisa Khana”, we mean meals that are comforting, satisfying, and quietly good for you.
Food that doesn’t leave you heavy or restless.
Food that’s made with real ingredients, and even real intent.

This blog was born out of that same intent.

We’re not here to give you recipes or preach nutrition. But we do want to talk about
the wisdom that quietly sits in our kitchens. How spices aren’t just flavor, but function. How a warm bowl of Dal can help regulate your day better than a supplement. How meals timed well, portioned mindfully, and cooked with care, can gently improve your mood, digestion, and even your sleep.

These are the things we thought of when we started Home Diner. And we realized — maybe you’d like to think about them with us too.

This space is our kitchen journal. Where we’ll share the small stories behind the food we make — the memories, the ingredients, the rhythms, the reasons. Where wellness doesn’t mean extremes, but balance. Where tradition and nutrition sit at the same table.

If you’ve ever eaten something and felt not just full, but looked after, you already know what we’re trying to say.

Welcome to our blog.
